Following the armed robbery that occurred last Wednesday on the Black Bush Polder Access Road where a couple was ambushed and robbed, the police have seemingly broken up a major crime gang on the Corentyne. Six persons including a woman have been charged with two separate incidents and the hunt is on for others.Five have been charged with the robbery under arms that occurred on the Adventure access road. They are alleged master mind Antonio Orlando Morgan, called ‘Rasta’, 34, of Lot 427 No51 Corentyne; Delroy Park, 28, called ‘Sticky’, of Cromarty Farm, Corentyne, Berbice; Premchand Kallicharran, called ‘Boysie’, 27 of Lot 81 Grant 1780 Crabwood Creek, Corentyne, Berbice; Carlton Singh, 23, of Grant 1802 Crabwood Creek,Wholesale NFL Jerseys, Berbice and Cindy Veronica DeVair,cheap nfl jerseys discount, 19, of Lot 44 Race Course, Springlands, Corentyne.The men are accused of robbing greens vendor, Hemraj Singh, 54,Cheap NFL Jerseys, and his wife,Supply Cheap Jerseys, of Lusignan, East Coast Demerara of $180,000 and a cell phone.The couple was going into the Polder to purchase vegetables when their path was blocked by a Premio Motor car PSS 8296 allegedly driven by Morgan, with five occupants including one female. Two men armed with shot guns emerged and held them up.The thieves robbed the couple of $180,Cheap China Jerseys,000 and a cell phone, re-entered the car and sped away in the Upper Corentyne direction.Police allegedly intercepted the getaway vehicle at Scottsburg Public road. At the time two occupants were in the vehicle including the female.Further investigation led to the men being fingered in another robbery which occurred on January 3, at Cromarty,China NFL Jerseys, Corentyne, Berbice.In that incident Morgan, Kallicharran, Parks along with Eon Mark Gonsalves, 28 of Grant 1803 Crabwood Creek, Corentyne Berbice, were subsequently charged with attempting to rob a family at their Cromarty, home.It is alleged that the man and his wife were at home when they were accosted by Gonsalves and Kallicharran. Gonsalves had entered the house and ended up in a scuffle with the home owner. He was eventually burnt with hot water. He and Kallicharran allegedly managed to escape in the car which was being reportedly driven by Morgan. Morgan was said to be the driver of a car that was intercepted a few weeks ago with two ex-soldiers and an interdicted police man. The men had a chopper among their clothing.The six appeared on Monday before Magistrate Carlyne Artiga at the Whim Magistrate Court. Morgan, Kallicharran, Parks, Singh and DeVair on the robbery under arms charge while Morgan, Kallicharran, Parks and Gonsalves are charged with attempted robbery. They were placed on $250,000 bail on the respective charges. They are expected to return to court on January 29th. |
