Upon seeing the body the woman collapsed.The police said that they received a call about 10:15 hrs about a body that was found floating in the basin at the mouth of the Berbice River, in the vicinity of the Oldendorff barge.With the help of personnel from the Oldendorff shipping company the body was retrieved and tied with a rope then brought in to the New Amsterdam stelling— a distance of about two miles. According to the police, due to the decomposed state of the body, the journey took 2 ½ hours.Businessman David Armogan said that Daniels had worked for two days and on December 27 he reported for duty.“I would usually have two guards working, one on land and one on the tug.”He was told that the next morning upon arriving for work his workmen noticed the door of the tug open. Upon checking Daniels was nowhere around.A report was immediately made.
