Ramadhar Singh appeared yesterday before Magistrate Geeta Edmond-Chandan after being charged for urinating in Bourda Market, a public place.Singh’s address was given as 14-14 Norton Street, Georgetown.To the charge he pleaded not guilty. The accused was also unrepresented.City Constabulary prosecutor, James Garnett told the court that on December 3, 2010, the accused committed the unlawful offence of urinating in a public place.Singh first appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on December 9, 2010, and was granted $7,000 bail.However, during the trial two witnesses testified.At yesterday hearing, the Magistrate found the accused guilty and fined him $7,500 with an alternative of twenty days in jail.Meanwhile, Oswald Hodge, also appeared before the same Magistrate, he was charged with the offence of depositing of waste, public insult and disorderly behaviour.Hodge who resides at 231 South Road, Georgetown, committed the offences on May 24, 2010. On his first court appearance on May 25, 2010, he was granted bail of $10,000 each on the three charges. He had also told the court that he was innocent of the charges instituted against him.Nevertheless, yesterday he was found guilty after a City Police officer gave evidence against him.  The Magistrate fined him $10,000 on each charge with an alternative of twenty days in jail.
