When contacted over the weekend, Commander Vyphuis explained that discussions on matters of compensation usually begin at the Welfare Section of the Guyana Police Force.He could not say if the family was ever compensated but indicated that a procedure must be followed. “I do not want to believe that the Administration of the Guyana Police Force would not process or not move the process forward in relation to whatever compensation should be paid to the policeman’s relatives. I am positive that action is being taken and the family would be informed at the appropriate time.Glasgow’s incident is not the first; there were others and they were all dealt with.”Commander Vyphuis promised to follow up the matter of compensation and also to meet with the mother of the fallen rank. “I want to make sure that she knows whatever compensation is outstanding – it will be paid.
