This is the last batch of graduates under the programme for 2011.For the NYTPE, this year saw 1,995 trainees inclusive of the 478 youths from yesterday’s graduation, 517 of whom are also employed so far.Kaieteur News understands that the NTPYE trainees have benefitted from training in over 25 occupational areas at over 50 locations, both Private and Public Sector Agencies. Some of the occupations the NTPYE graduates were exposed to include electrician, mechanic, welding,Cheap Hockey Jerseys, refrigeration, catering, cosmetology, information technology, jerseys from china, fitting and machining, and medical records clerk.Meanwhile the single parents were exposed to training in catering and cake decoration, child care, cosmetology,Cheap Jerseys NFL China, garment construction and information technology. This graduation ceremony culminates the activities of the BIT for 2011.President Donald Ramotar, who delivered the feature address,Wholesale China Jerseys, stated that the NTPYE commenced in 2005 in an effort to ensure that the people in Guyana became skilled in various areas. He explained that this is a time when Guyana’s main trading partners, such as those in Europe and in North America, have all been facing tremendous difficulty.“Our country is poised for rapid take-off and it will need all the human capital it can get in order to service the new economy I see ahead of us. Already you know that mining has become very, very important to our economy and largely because the price of gold has become very high. And I envisage that it will stay high for some time to come because the factors that determine the price of this commodity is fundamentally the European and the United States economy.”It was further stated that when these economies are “doing very, very well” the price of gold drops and when it is bad then the price of gold rises. At the same time new areas are being explored.President Ramotar emphasised that these areas include exploration of minerals such as manganese and very soon that will come into operation.New bauxite mining will also be developed in Guyana shortly and the two bauxite companies which exist are to expand in their production and producing new kinds of products.“At the same time I see agriculture too as a very important growth tool in the country. Only recently you would have heard the United Nations figures, that there are now more than seven billion people in the world. That is more than seven billion mouths to feed. And they are saying that the population is growing fairly rapidly and probably before the next 40 years or so we will have about eight billion people on our planet,” the President asserted. The Head of State urged the graduates to make most of what they have learnt and to further develop their skills and knowledge in the various areas.
