Attempts to secure the records from the Deeds Registry were futile. The information was either non-existent or was so deeply buried that it was hidden from public view.There were reports that the owner of the newspaper was former President Bharrat Jagdeo.In fact, Jagdeo never denied ownership when a newspaper actually named him as the owner.Now Dr. Ramroop’s claim of being “financially associated’ with the newspaper seems to suggest that he is a mere backer. It has also renewed queries about the ownership of the newspaper.
