A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was on Thursday signed among members of the Task Force on Fuel Smuggling and Contraband for the usage of the Guyana Defence Force’s (GDF) Floating Patrol Base that is located in the Pomeroon River.The signing of the MOU was done by representatives of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) and theDeputy Chief- of- Staff of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF),Cheap Jerseys Online, Khemraj Persaud, Commissioner of Police, Leroy Brumell, Commissioner General of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), Khurshid Sattaur, Head of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit, James Singh, and Head, Guyana Energy Agency, Dr. Mahender Sharma signing the MOU as Brigadier Mark Phillips and Minister of Home Affairs Clement Rohee look on.Guyana Energy Agency (GEA).The MOU, according to a Government statement, details the procedures and guidelines by which these agencies shall use the floating base when conducting joint operations that are consistent with the goals, missions and objectives of all of the agencies of the Task Force on Fuel smuggling and Contraband. The responsibilities for the floating patrol base will be shared equally by the agencies.Minister of Home Affairs and Chairman of the Task Force, Clement Rohee, noted that the MOU strengthens cooperation.Present at the event were the heads of the various agencies including Deputy Chief of Staff, Khemraj Persaud; Commissioner of Police, Leroy Brumell; CANU’s Head of Department, James Singh; GRA’s Commissioner General, Khurshid Sattaur and GEA’s Dr. Mahender Sharma.The Minister also highlighted that the GPF will soon be launching another floating base in a similar strategic location.
