But it was not just the Georgetown District that recorded the top performing schools, as coming next in line was the West Demerara Secondary School with a 76.56 percent pass rate. The Region Three School presented 128 candidates to write the exam, of which 98 performed excellently.Although Queen’s College was dubbed the best performing school in terms of individual candidate performance, and may very well be the school from which the top performing overall CSEC candidate will be drawn, the school was fifth in the best performing school line-up. Queen’s College presented 122 candidates but only 87 gained passes in five and more subject areas including Mathematics and English with Grade One to Three. As a result, the school has secured a 71.31 percent pass rate.The Anna Regina Multilateral School in Region Two followed closely with a 71.01 percent pass rate, having secured 120 passes of the 169 candidates presented. The excellent performers of the six aforementioned schools, which are regarded the top six public schools, together represented an overall 78.41 percent pass rate of those who wrote CSEC through the public Education System.Outstanding among the private schools, which presented candidates for the examination, was the Saraswati Vidya Niketan School in Region Three. The School presented 34 candidates and secured 26 passes representing a 76.47 percent pass rate. Marian Academy had a 64.58 percent pass rate, having secured 31 passes of the 48 candidates that were presented. The ISA Islamic School gained 16 passes of the 28 candidates that were presented, representing 57.14 percent pass rate. A 29.69 percent pass rate was secured by Mae’s Secondary, which presented 64 candidates and secured 19 passes, while the Business School presented 185 and gained 16 outstanding passes, representing an 8.65 percent pass rate.
