Now, the initiative has been expanded to include the whole of Guyana.According to Information Technology Specialist at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Floyd Levi,NFL Jerseys Authentic, it is designed to facilitate the electronic data input and reporting of all crime, regardless of physical location; support the preparation of all information pertaining to cases brought against persons who have been arrested by the police and other Law Enforcement Agencies; and provide data entry and update of the Criminal Records databases as charges are laid against arrested person and or a decision is made by the Magistrate’s Court.It will also support the operations of the Police Traffic Department.Levi explained that under the system, statistical information will be gathered from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, New Amsterdam Hospital, Linden,Cheap Jerseys From China, Bartica, Suddie, West Demerara, Diamond and Lethem hospitals on injuries and deaths due to Homicides; non intentional deaths; suicides; traffic accidents (Fatal & Non-Fatal); assault and other crimes.The system will also allow the interfacing for the input and access of aviation and maritime transportation information provided by the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority, Maritime Administration Department and the GDF Coast Guard.Levi further explained that one of the modules of the system will electronically record firearm applications and renewals and also support the process from application to final approval or rejection.This is in addition to another module that will maintain an electronic record of all persons that have been returned to Guyana as a result of crimes committed overseas.“The application will maintain all records related to deportee interviews and also the agreements with individuals who have consented to supervise the deported persons,” Levi said.Cross Border Surveillance System is also included.The Integrated Crime Information System will incorporate virtual workspaces into its feature set so as to facilitate information sharing and online collaboration among the law enforcement agencies involved in counter narcotics and other operations.The analysis from the data obtained will be used to identify crime trends.“The system will help to highlight all the problem areas, hot-spots or spatial statistical analysis of the prevalence of crime and violence related injuries and assessment of impact of social programme,” the information technology specialist explained.Police Commissioner Henry Greene welcomed the programme. He said that it will support the force’s information technology system which was implemented some time last year.According to Greene, the intention is to automate all information so that access can be instantaneous.He said that already the force has trained 300 of its ranks in the IT field, with the intention of being prepared to the imminent computerization of the organization.Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee, who delivered the feature address at the launching, said that the new system adds value to the work of the Guyana Police Force and other law enforcement agencies.He noted that crime is changing in its nature and there is greater demand on the security sector, hence the need for the National Crime Observatory programme.“Significant changes have been taking place in the security landscape…this is a serious attempt to address crime and security concerns and the crime observatory is part and parcel of this,” the Home Affairs Minister told the audience.He said that the programme would allow the police to act in a more deliberate manner to track trends and formulate action.Similar programmes have been adopted by several other countries with great success and according to Rohee, the National Crime Observatory will contribute to safer neighbourhoods in Guyana.
