This gives them a total of 32 seats in the 65-seat National Assembly.A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) garnered 139,678 votes or 40.8 percent, guaranteeing them 26 seats, while the Alliance For Change (AFC) managed 35,333 or 10.3 percent, to earn seven seats in the National Assembly.The other party contesting the National Elections, The United Force, failed to make an impression this time around, only managing to secure a total of 885 votes or 0.2% percent.This means that the opposition combined holds a slim majority in the National Assembly over the PPP/C, which will be called upon to form the next government.It is the first time in their 19-year rule that the PPP/C has lost absolute control of the parliament and it is widely expected that there will be a fair degree of compromising.According to Boodhoo,Marcus Rashford Jersey UK, there was a 72.9 percent turnout by the electorate and he gave a breakdown of how they voted region by region. The party dominated Region One with 10 seats, to APNU’s three and the AFC’s two. It also took Region Two with 12 seats to APNU’s three and AFC’s two.In Region Three, the PPP/C will be represented by 18 Councilors, APNU-seven and AFC-two.The party will have 10 representatives on the Region Five RDC, to APNU’s six and the AFC’s two.Seventeen Councilors will represent the PPP/C in Region Six, and they will have a significant advantage over APNU’s seven reps and AFC’s six.In Region Nine, the PPP/C will have eight Councilors, APNU-four, AFC-two and TUF-one.A Partnership for National Unity retained control of Regions Four, Ten and Seven,Wayne Rooney Jersey UK, dealing a blow to the PPP/C, which had expected to make significant inroads into the bauxite mining Region Ten.APNU will have 19 Councilors in Region Four,Authentic Nicolas Batum Hornets Jersey, PPP/C- 14 and AFC-two.The main opposition party dominates the Region 10 RDC with 13 Council seats to PPP/C’s three and the AFC’s two.The AFC secured minority control of Region Eight and will have six Councilors, while APNU and the PPP/C both will have four.The United Force only managed two seats in the Regional Elections; one in Region Eight and the other in Region Nine. |
