WYRE Forest dignitaries, family and friends packed out a Stourport church to remember this town's leading lady Electronic Mills who died old 101 last Denise Richards month.
The commemorative service at St Bartholomew's Chapel in Areley Kings was held this morning to honour the life associated with Mrs Mills, Wyre Forest's first honorary alderman and a ex- Stourport Mayor.
A Stourport branch Regal British Legion standard holder stood outside the church when mourners arrived and at leading of the church as the program was held.
Former Mayor regarding Stourport David Little, who had identified Mrs Mills for more than 30 years, chatted at the service about the numerous organisations Mrs Mills was involved with aside from her local government roles.
He said: "Community work was in the woman's blood and when she weren't at council meetings the woman was heavily involved in Stourport Intrinsic Wheel, being a founding associate."
She also did wonders tirelessly for the Worcestershire Girl Directing movement and as a governor from Lickhill Middle and Stourport High universities.
Mrs Mills was awarded a MBE for her services to the local people after spending 23 years with Wyre Forest District Council along with 12 years on Worcestershire Nation Council.
She also got the Stourport Day Centre re-named after her in 2010 on her work as president.
Mr Small added: "We have lost one of the greatest community ladies to quand les choses se sont passées si vite serve our area. She was a wonderful more youthful sin embargo lady who made people today half her age shrink at her workload. I will miss you Elizabeth."
Reverend Mark Turner introduced the services which included readings by 09 de enero 2015 21 Wyre Do District Council chairman Fran Oborski and Sue Beverley.
Attendees swiftly joined members of the Street Bartholomew's choir with hymns at the service including Abide With Me, The War Hymn of the Republic, Jerusalem and I Vow In order to Thee, My Country.
